Should Our Water Tower Become A Cell Tower?

EMF/RFR Resources: Links

F.A.C.T.S.
Families For Appropriate Cell Tower Siting

This Site was established as a reference guide to assist in the distribution of information concerning communication/cell towers, cell phones. Information concerning the health effects, zoning debates, school issues, legal issues, state, national, and local issues.

Good EMF links section from this site.

Also known as The Ad Hoc Association of Parties Concerned About the FCC's Radio Frequency Health and Safety Rules.

Cellphone Safety Survey: Take this quick 2-question survey on cellphones and public health, and make your voice heard.

The EMR Network

Citizens and Professionals for the Responsible Use of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR)

We are in the midst of potentially the most pervasive and important environmental struggle of the new millennium, the struggle to understand the effects of exposure to electromagnetic radiation. Wireless devices and broadcast antennas threaten the natural and human environments in ways that affect every one of us at home, school, places of worship, and at work.

EMR/RFR Bioeffects and Public Policy

Check out the Library and Links Sections for some excellent information!

"Science is a hard taskmaster, and in the light of mounting evidence that suggestions of toxicity are for the most part ultimately confirmed by painstaking scientific inquiry, perhaps it is time to reexamine whether scientific standards of proof of causality - and waiting for the bodies to fall - ought not to give way to more preventative health policies that are satisfied by more realistic conventions and that lead to action sooner." -- From an editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine, April 1987

The EMF Guru

Roy Beavers, aka: The EMF Guru, has a new site where you will find many of his essays on this topic. (The archives of his mailing list can be found at Wave-Guide.)

ELECTRIC WORDS: Telecommunications - Cellphones - Health - History - Politics - Economics

A wealth of good information! "Australian writer Stewart Fist writes on this topic, and has some very interesting essays on junk science, as well as other science topics." -- WaveGuide

Cellular Towers, EMR, and Health Effects

Others across America who are concerned/opposed to cellular towers

Quotes and results from scientific studies related to cellular technology and health concerns. A lot of the studies used to determine human exposure standards are based on high power, short term test designs that are then used to extrapolate downward in order to arrive at presumed safety levels. But most exposures to the radio-frequencies in the real world, especially for those living near antennas, are of the long-term, low-level variety. These have very different biological parameters associated with them. So a lot of the research that's been done is of an inappropriate kind, and it's being used to reach inappropriate conclusions. The low-level, short term studies are much fewer, but every one of them is disturbing. Following is a list of different studies, with their source of how I came across them.

Cell Slayer

Kirk R. Wines, Esq. - One attorney's experience fighting cellular providers, with some interesting links.

"Kirk Wines has been the Medina City Attorney for over twenty-five years. As such, he was unwittingly drawn into his first cell tower disputes. The first case filed under the Telecommunications Act of 1996 was against the City of Medina, Washington for passing a moratorium on cell sites within the city. Kirk successfully defended that action and a subsequent series of actions filed in Federal Court by Sprint Spectrum alleging that the city was obligated to allow Sprint to erect a 100 foot monopole tower with a ring of panel antennas at the top within the midst of a densely developed neighborhood."

For more information on this particular case, see The Medina Experience in Federal Court.
